G Plan Mid Century Teak Cabinet Sideboard Restored Black Metal Legs

A beautifully restored G-Plan mid-century teak cabinet, combining the warmth and character of original vintage furniture with a lighter, more contemporary profile.

The cabinet features a clean rectangular form, attractive teak grain and a pair of flush-fitting doors with distinctive sculpted wooden handles. The doors open to reveal a spacious interior with a full-width shelf, offering practical storage for glassware, drinks, records, books or household essentials. The original red and gold G-Plan label remains in place.

During restoration, the original base was removed and replaced with slim tapered black metal legs. This sympathetic update raises the cabinet from the floor, gives it a more refined silhouette and makes it easier to incorporate into modern interiors. Each leg is fitted with an adjustable foot to help level the cabinet on slightly uneven flooring.

Its compact proportions make it particularly versatile. It could be used as a small sideboard, drinks cabinet, hallway cupboard, media cabinet or living-room storage unit.

Condition

This cabinet has been fully restored and is presented in very good vintage condition.

The teak surfaces have been carefully cleaned and refinished to enhance the natural grain and colour. The doors open and close as intended, the original sculpted handles remain secure, and the interior has been cleaned and refreshed.

The original base has been removed and replaced with new tapered black metal legs with adjustable feet. This is a considered modification rather than an original feature.

As an authentic vintage item, the cabinet may retain minor historic marks, subtle tonal variation and small signs of age. Care

Dust regularly with a soft, dry cloth. For occasional cleaning, use a slightly damp cloth and dry the surface immediately afterwards.

Avoid abrasive products, silicone-based furniture sprays and harsh chemical cleaners. Use coasters or protective mats beneath drinks, plants and decorative items, and do not place hot or wet objects directly onto the top.

Keep the cabinet away from strong direct sunlight, radiators and excessive changes in temperature or humidity.

The adjustable feet can be altered carefully to help level the cabinet on uneven flooring. Always lift the piece when moving it rather than dragging it, to protect both the legs and the floor.
