Octavia - The Octopus Record Cabinet
Meet Octavia, a beautifully upcycled oak cabinet transformed into a stylish record storage unit. Featuring a striking octopus graphic design applied to the doors, this piece blends functional storage with modern artistic flair. The graphic is carefully adhered to the doors and sealed with varnish to protect and enhance its vibrancy, giving the cabinet a playful yet sophisticated look.
1950s Kitchenette
This kitchen larder is a quietly assured piece, rooted in early twentieth-century utility design and thoughtfully brought back to life through a full refurbishment using its original colour palette. The result is a cabinet that feels both authentic and refreshed, retaining its historical character while offering renewed clarity and purpose.
Its tall, slender proportions give it an architectural presence, while the softly rounded edges and panelled doors temper the form with warmth. The original colour scheme—carefully reinstated—plays a central role in its appeal. The muted, heritage green exterior feels calm and grounded, sitting comfortably within both traditional kitchens and more contemporary interiors. Dark metal hardware provides gentle contrast, emphasising the cabinet’s clean lines without drawing attention away from its form.
Glazed upper doors, fitted with decorative patterned glass, add depth and texture, allowing light to filter through while offering a subtle glimpse of the interior. At the centre, the fold-down work surface introduces a practical, almost ceremonial element, reflecting the cabinet’s origins as a hardworking domestic piece. Inside, the interior layout remains true to its original purpose, designed for order, accessibility and daily use.
Antique Marble Washstand
This striking early 20th-century mahogany washstand has been thoughtfully upcycled into a bespoke bathroom vanity, retaining its original marble top and splashback while being adapted for contemporary use.
The warm mahogany timber displays a rich, mellowed tone with fine grain throughout, framed by traditional panelled doors and original brass hinges. Elegant cabriole legs with castors give the piece a light, architectural stance, allowing it to sit gracefully within the room rather than feeling fixed or heavy.
The original marble slab has been carefully preserved and now forms a generous vanity surface, complemented by a matching marble backboard that echoes the washstand’s original purpose. A modern countertop basin and brushed brass tap have been introduced with restraint, creating a dialogue between historic craftsmanship and contemporary bathroom design.
