1930s Art Deco Oak Sideboard Cabinet Restored Black & Green

A striking 1930s Art Deco oak sideboard, fully refurbished to celebrate its original character while introducing a bold and sophisticated contemporary finish.

The warm oak exterior displays attractive figured grain, distinctive fluted side detailing, a raised back gallery and decorative carved trim along the lower edge. Carefully applied black accents emphasise the strong geometric lines of the design, while the handles have also been refinished in black to create a cohesive contrast.

The sideboard provides practical storage through two upper drawers and a spacious double-door cupboard with an internal shelf. The drawer interiors and cupboard have been painted in a rich green, creating an unexpected and elegant contrast with the natural oak. One drawer also retains useful fitted divisions.

The central escutcheon remains as a decorative period feature. No key is included and the cupboard cannot be locked; however, a fitted catch keeps the doors securely closed.

Condition

This piece has been fully refurbished and is presented in very good vintage condition.

The oak exterior has been cleaned and refinished, with black detailing added to enhance its Art Deco design. The cupboard and drawer interiors have been refreshed in green, and the handles have been painted black.

As an authentic vintage item, it retains some minor age-related marks, tonal variation and natural imperfections within the timber. These are consistent with its age and form part of its individual character rather than detracting from its appearance or function.

The escutcheon does not have a key and is not operational as a lock. The cupboard doors close securely using a fitted catch. Please examine all photographs carefully, as they form an important part of the description.

Care

Dust regularly with a soft, dry cloth. For light cleaning, use a slightly damp cloth and dry the surface immediately afterwards.
