A characterful Minty Ltd Oxford glazed sectional library bookcase, made by Minty Limited – Library Specialists, Oxford.

This is a stylish and practical vintage bookcase with a strong early-to-mid 20th century look, featuring glazed hinged doors, warm wood grain and attractive geometric detail across the upper frieze. The original maker’s plaque is present, confirming the piece as a Minty Ltd Oxford library bookcase.

The cabinet is arranged in three stacked glazed sections, offering useful display and storage space for books, ceramics, glassware, collectables or decorative pieces. The middle section includes an internal shelf, while the top and bottom sections are open internally without shelves, giving flexibility for taller books or display items.

A lovely piece of vintage library furniture with real character, ideal for use in a living room, study, hallway, dining room or home office.

Condition

Presented in good vintage condition.

The bookcase is solid and usable, with attractive wood grain, original glazed doors and the original Minty Ltd Oxford maker’s plaque still present. The doors open and close, and the middle internal shelf is in place.

As with any genuine vintage piece, there are age-related marks, small imperfections, surface wear and signs of previous use. These are in keeping with the age and character of the item and add to its authentic vintage appeal.

Please note that the top and bottom sections do not have internal shelves.

Care

Dust regularly with a soft, dry cloth.

Clean the glass carefully with a suitable glass cleaner, spraying onto the cloth rather than directly onto the cabinet to avoid excess moisture reaching the wood.

Avoid harsh chemical cleaners, abrasive cloths or silicone-based sprays on the wooden frame. Keep away from prolonged direct sunlight and strong heat sources, as natural wood and older finishes can react to changes in temperature and humidity over time.
